Therapy for Midlife Professional Women in NYC, New York

Virtual therapy sessions for New York women navigating career stress, life transitions, and the demands of modern midlife

You're successful. You're capable. You're also completely exhausted.

Between high-pressure career demands, family responsibilities, and the relentless pace of life in New York, you're running on empty—and you can't remember the last time you felt like yourself.

You don't need another person telling you to "just relax."
You need someone who understands the unique pressures of being a high-achieving woman in one of the world's most demanding cities.

I'm Corinne, a licensed therapist in New York specializing in midlife professional women who refuse to settle for just "getting through the day."

Why New York Women Choose Virtual Therapy

Life in New York doesn't slow down. Between work commitments, family obligations, and the simple reality of getting anywhere in the city, adding another appointment to your calendar feels impossible.

That's why I offer virtual therapy sessions designed for your lifestyle:

No commute - Save 60+ minutes per session
Flexible scheduling - Early morning, lunch break, or evening sessions
Privacy - Meet from your home, office, or anywhere you feel comfortable
Continuity of care - Stay connected even when traveling

Virtual therapy isn't a compromise. For busy New York professionals, it's often the better choice.

Common Challenges I Help New York Women Navigate

Career Burnout in High-Stakes Industries

The intensity of New York's professional environment—finance, law, media, tech, healthcare—creates unique pressures. Performance expectations are relentless, and "good enough" is never actually enough.

We work on:

  • Setting sustainable boundaries without sacrificing your career

  • Managing perfectionism and imposter syndrome

  • Navigating career transitions and pivots after 40

  • Work-life integration (because balance feels impossible)

The New York Sandwich Generation Squeeze

You're managing your career while caring for aging parents (who may not be local) and supporting your own family in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

We address:

  • Managing caregiving responsibilities from a distance

  • Financial stress and competing priorities

  • Guilt about not being "enough" for everyone

  • Decision-making about eldercare and family support

Life Transitions in Your 40s and 50s

Divorce, empty nest, career changes, health scares, loss—midlife brings transitions you didn't see coming, all while maintaining your professional reputation and family responsibilities.

We explore:

  • Redefining your identity beyond roles and achievements

  • Navigating relationship changes and divorce

  • Dating and starting over in New York after 40

  • Finding meaning and purpose in your next chapter

Anxiety and Overwhelm
The pace of New York life combined with hormonal changes, family demands, and career pressure creates a perfect storm for anxiety that feels impossible to manage.

We work with:

  • Managing anxiety without medication (or in conjunction with it)

  • Breaking the cycle of worry and rumination

  • Developing practical coping strategies for daily stress

  • Addressing physical symptoms (sleep disruption, tension, panic)

My Approach to Midlife Therapy

I don't do endless processing. I do practical solutions.

After 20+ years as a therapist, I know what works for high-achieving women: you need strategies, not just support. You need someone who understands that you don't have months to "explore your feelings"—you need to function now while doing the deeper work.

My approach combines:

  • Solution-focused therapy - Practical tools you can use immediately

  • Cognitive-behavioral strategies - Change thought patterns that keep you stuck

  • Somatic techniques - Address the physical manifestations of stress and anxiety

  • Life design coaching - Create a life that works for THIS stage, not your 20s

I get it because I've lived it. As a midlife woman myself, I understand the sandwich generation squeeze, the career pressures, and the daily challenge of not losing yourself while caring for everyone else.

About Me
I am a seasoned therapist who specializes in working with professional women in midlife.

With a wide range experience of in the mental health field (from social service, to non-profit to private practice) in New York, Boston, Austin and Paris, France, I have developed holistic, creative approaches to improving mental health while working with a diverse range of people.
Today, after my own experiences of midlife challenges (working mother caring for aging parents, loss, grief and all the craziness that comes with hormonal changes!) I am focused on providing supportive spaces for busy, high-achieving women who are ready to create a life that works for you in this season. Think of me as a therapist with a coaching-style, as we actively work together toward your goals.

My practice focuses exclusively on midlife women because this life stage deserves specialized support. The challenges you're facing at 45 are fundamentally different from what you experienced at 25—and generic therapy approaches don't address that reality.

Beyond individual therapy, I offer:

  • "Stop Dancing Around It" 6-week coaching program (worldwide)

  • Le Cercle des Femmes - Free support group for midlife women

  • Le Salon - Monthly book club for intellectual connection

  • "Manage Your Mind" podcast - Coming Soon!

Section: Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?
I'm an out-of-network provider. I can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, but I don't bill insurance directly. Many clients find that the specialized care and flexible scheduling are worth the investment.

Why don't you take insurance?
Not accepting insurance allows me to provide longer sessions, email support between sessions, and avoid the limitations insurance companies place on treatment. It also protects your privacy—no diagnoses required in your medical records.

Are sessions really virtual?
Yes, all sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Research shows virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person for most issues.

How long will I need therapy?
It depends on your goals and situation. Some clients see me for 3-6 months; others prefer ongoing support. We'll discuss this in your first session and reassess regularly.

What if I need medication?
I can't prescribe medication as a therapist, but I work collaboratively with psychiatrists and can provide referrals if medication might be helpful.
